Axiostat Nasal Bleeding Control is a topical haemostatic dressing that works wonders within minutes on the application on the injury/ bleeding site. The positively charged and active Axiostat reacts locally with the negatively charged blood cells in motion to create a robust and adhesive seal on the injury site to stop bleeding.

Natural Biopolymer(100% Chitosan)

Ques 1. What is Axiostat Bleeding Control made of?
Ans. Axiostat is made of a naturally occurring polymer known as Chitosan which is extracted from shellfish. It is then processed, purified, and sterilized to achieve the end product for patient use.

Ques 2. Is it safe to use in the nasal cavity without causing any irritation and/or infection?
Ans. It is made of a 100% natural biopolymer and is safe to use entirely in nasal cavities during epistaxis or other nasal trauma/ procedures leading to continuous bleeding without the risk of any possible infection.

Ques 3. How easy is it to use Axiostat Nasal Bleeding Control?
Ans. It comes in sterile blister packaging and is available in a ready to use format. It can be applied directly at the bleeding site (Insert in the nasal passage, avoid deep insertion) and once the bleeding stops (within a few minutes), it can be removed with saline/water and discarded.

Ques 4. Can a single unit of Axiostat Nasal Bleeding Control be cut and used to control bleeding occurring from both nasal passages simultaneously?
Ans. Although it does not lose its efficacy if cut or folded. Nevertheless, to suit the application site in the nasal segment, a specific design of 1cm * 4cm is being manufactured for best results.

Ques 5. Will Axiostat Nasal Bleeding Control absorb the pooled blood in the nasal passage during application on the bleeding site?
Ans. Axiostat N14 is available in a densely formed sponge format, due to which it has high absorption capacities. Therefore, during applications, Axiostat will absorb the pool of blood while stopping any further blood loss.

Ques 6. How to remove Axiostat N14 once applied?
Ans. Axiostat can be removed using saline or flushing with water. It will turn into a gel that can be easily peeled off. This is one of the major advantages of using Axiostat as it allows the patient to be comfortable and at ease without causing any additional trauma to the previously bleeding site.

Ques 7. Does Axiostat work on patients who are on blood-thinning drugs (Oral or Injectables)?
Ans. Axiostat works independently of natural clotting mechanism and is much effective on patients who are on blood-thinning drugs.
